End of the Pox

Last night, Bennett's last pock finally scabbed over. We survived the chicken pox. Today, Bennett has been so happy to be back in the den with Daddy and Gracie and all his toys. He got to go with Daddy to get a hamburger as a treat. At first when I told him he could come sit on the couch with me, he said that no he couldn't because he has bumps.
All week, Bennett has only gotten to see Gracie and talk to her when I brought her to the doorway. Today, he has looked at her and talked to her and pushed her swing "slowly, not fast." He shared his "Chick Hicks" car with her and set it by her feet. A few minutes later, he asked me if he could have it back and then went over and asked Gracie "Can I have my Chick Hicks back please?" Such a sweetie.

He loves being a big brother and it's been so hard keeping him away from Gracie. He grins and exclaims "That's MY sister!"

We've been blessed with two amazing kids who constantly exceed our expectations. Gracie continues to move her legs and her leg muscles are getting stronger and stronger. She will be evaluated next Monday for physical and occupational therapy that should help even more. When she's awake, she's very alert and will lay down and look around without fussing for even an hour. While I would love to spend that time with her, it's been a huge help for her to be content while Bennett needed me this week. We're off on Thursday and Friday and can't wait to spend time together as a family of 4.

Please continue to pray for Bennett's healing and Gracie's progress. Also pray that Brad and Gracie stay healthy and don't come down with the chicken pox.
